WORKING STUDENT OPENING
Karmic Run Stables in Mount Airy, Maryland
Home to USDF Silver Medalist Meghan Truppner
#TeamKRS working students work side by side with Meghan on a daily basis, working to develop horses and students from FEI dressage riders to people just wanting to have fun with their horse. A popular instructor, Meghan prides herself in the ability to teach dressage to riders in a way that not only makes sense to them, but also makes sense to their horses. She has an incredible eye—developed in part to attending judges training in 2011—which allows her to quickly assess any training issues. While Meghan is a stickler for the basics, she will often think outside the box to help horse and rider combinations work through any roadblocks they may be up against. Meghan loves teaching anyone that loves to learn! Spend a day with Meghan and you’ll learn that every horse and rider that comes to her is given a fair shot at achieving their dreams.
Working students will assist with all aspects of caring for a high-end training facility: feeding, turnout, stall cleaning, blanket changes, general barn maintenance, etc. Everyone at KRS works as a team, and a good work ethic along with a love of horses is required! This is the perfect position for someone looking to further their education in an intense, but fun, environment.
Working student compensation includes a stall for your horse, lessons and training, plus a small stipend based on experience. We prefer this to be a full-time position, but can be flexible on hours if needed.
To apply, email your resume and riding video to Meghan at firstname.lastname@example.org!
